Here’s my recent commision – a pack of beautiful (and deadly) ladies. These kind of girls never go out without makeup (and razor sharp blades). For this reason, I was obligated to gave them a proper skincare (or skintone) treatment and take care of their elastic outfit (glossy stockings FTW!).
Quality or quantity? Why not both!
I painted unit of 20 models and I think Im able to paint like dozen of more. What is very exceptional in this case, they are mounted on different themed bases (8 type of environment – it’s like 8 seasons) which gives 160 bases painted in total!
I think I’m kind of basing expert now. Pretty cool 🙂
Hello everyone! I’m new here, and this is my first post. It’s great honor and pleasure to show some of my own stuff here, because I used to read this blogspot about 10 years ago, seeking for some of the precious tips and tricks for miniatures painting, as a teenager fascinated in this hobby.
Some time has passed, my skills have developed and my paths crossed with such great painters like Ańa, Mahon, Kacpero and Benathai in Mixed Dimensions Studio, where I had the best opportunity to learn even more. Now, as a part of this excellent Chest of Colors crew I’m going to do my bests to fit it’s standards.
Fjul-Grimnir for Chosen Axes
My first work to show here is not certainly what I’d call “my style”, but it’s the mini I’m really proud of. I usually like grim-dark, gloomy and some more realistic painting (for the glory of dark gods, of course!), I’m also huge True Metallic Metals fan, but I love to try new things and techniques as well.
As Warhammer: Underworlds player I own a lot of beautifully designed individuals from many different Age of Sigmar factions, so when I wanted to practice something new, I decided to choose something different to feel more free from my own routine. This dwarf slayer is really wonderful miniature and gave me great opportunity to play with tanned fleshtones, NMM gold and silver and some bright colours in general.
I’m really satisfied with the effect of this ~12 hours battle that has teached me a lot, and gave me a lot of fun! I also see a lot of things to do better next time 😉

Necron – the new (well, old) and the old (well, very old)
With all the hype around the new Necrons coming out in the new edition of Warhammer 40k (if by any chance you live under a rock, here’s the trailer for the 9th edition of WH40K)
I dug up some pics from a commission I painted a while back (5 years!) – good old Necrons of which we might not see miniatures again! The custom colour scheme was something quite different, though with the passing of time i see how my skills have improved. Take a look, feel a bit nostalgic… and ready Your wallets for the HUGE amount of new Games Workshop metal skeletons coming within the next months!
Sometimes you get a project that is just so cool that you can’t let it go. It was the case with these Vikings. Or not quite Vikings, but their fantasy equivalents.
It was a few months ago that we were asked if we could get an unique warband painted. Had it been a typical run-of-the-mill warband, it could have been just another project for us. But these models and the backstory behind them were so uncommon and so special that we decided we simply had to do them! The owner of the miniatures liked Benathai`s style the most and insisted on having him paint the models, and so we did!

So what was so special about the models? Well, not all of them existed at the moment the project started. Some were still being designed, as the warband included a few models which were sculpted specifically for this project, so there are only single copies of these models in the world!
So here’s the whole warband, and if you want to see the individual models, look a bit further below.
Fantasy viking warband – you can see some spears are not attached. It’s intentional with shipping in mind. Sorry we cannot take photos of fully assembled models 🙁
Characters for the viking warband
So here’s the seer. Heavily inspired by the “Vikings” TV show. The representation is pretty accurate, isn’t it?
Now this guy is a bear. A Norse bear though, so he belongs in the warband:
These two, the archer and the spearman, may seem more generic, so why don’t you take a quick look at the freehands which mark them as more individual characters.
This is their warpriest. He wears adamantine armor and is basically shorter than the others, just because that’s the way dwarves are. 😀
Finally the last two models represent the same character, Magnus the Jotunkin brawler, in two different states. One is his usual form while the giant one is what he looks like when he’s going berserk and frenzy transforms him into his giant form. No, he’s not the Hulk – he’s not green. 😉
Even if you are familar with currently available miniature ranges, you may be unable to recognize the models used for Magnus, because they were made specifically for this warband. Isn’t it great to have such unique pieces to represent your characters?

Happy New Year! And with a New Year it’s time for a change. A Demon of Change! Here comes Kairos Fateweaver – powerful chaos demon of Tzeentch.This is certainly one of bigger (if not the biggest) figure I have painted so far. It is really packed with details so painting him took me quite a while.
