Arachnork spider
I finished painting this Arachnork spider in May 2015, but I didn’t have the photos until now. Better late than never, here they are for you to see. 🙂
The text on the base says:
»Live on then, and yet hang, condemned one, but, lest you are careless in future, this same condition is declared, in punishment, against your descendants, to the last generation!« Departing after saying this, Athena sprinkled her with the juice of Hecate’s herb, and immediately at the touch of this dark poison, Arachne’s hair fell out. With it went her nose and ears, her head shrank to the smallest size, and her whole body became tiny. Her slender fingers stuck to her sides as legs, the rest is belly, from which she still spins a thread, and, as a spider, weaves her ancient web.
It comes from The Metamorphoses by Ovid. I think the connection is pretty obvious. 😉
Official background for Arachnork spider:
Here’s what the official Games Workshop narration says about this monster:
In the darkest depths of the most sinister forests, even Giants and Cygors can fall prey to the colossal Arachnarok Spider. Towering over houses and settlements alike, this gargantuan creature can be goaded into battle by Forest Goblins who worship it as a living god. Bedecked with shanty towers, altars to the Spider-god or even crude catapults, the Arachnarok Spider will terrorise the Warhammer world.
I hope you like it, and I will soon post some more WIP photos of my Alahan models.
Wurrzag Ud Ura Zahubu, Da Great Green Prophet
I haven’t posted any orc stuff for quite some time, so here is one of my more recent orc paintjobs: Wurrzag Ud Ura Zahubu — Da Great Green Prophet.
That’s what Games Workshop story says about him:
Wurrzag Ud Ura Zahubu, also known as Da Great Green Prophet is a Savage Orc Shaman of mighty mystical powers. Wurrzag leads tribes to greatness before wandering off to pursue yet another mad plan to advance Orcish kind. Like all Orc Shamans Wurrzag is completely crazy, though what he lacks in sanity he more than makes up for with vision and inspiration. It is widely believed that an army with Wurrzag in it has never been defeated in battle.
Enjoy!
Vampire Counts characters
And so the undead army raises! I have finished painting two Vampire Counts characters – Krell and a extra Necromancer. There is never enough of those 😉
You can see more from my von Carstein’s Vampire Counts here. Currently I have painted about 3000 points, most of them are characters so I will have to finish some units soon to make the army playable.
Krell is of course from Games Workshop and the girl is from Anima Tactics – a very nice and fast miniature to paint. And since there is an invasion of dragons here at Chest of Colors, I had to start paint one on my own. It a wyvern I know, but still it is a dragon like creature 🙂
I hope I can finish this biggy soon!
