After painting new Roboute Guilliman I finished second mini from Games Workshop Triumvirate of the Primarch set. Here is Cypher – Lord of the Fallen. Armed with deadly pistols and carrying sword that is a “little” too big for him 🙂
Roboute Guilliman
Sooner or later I had to paint this miniature – Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines.You can compare this new plastic Games Workshop figure with previously painted (more than year ago) resin Forge World Roboute Guilliman.The previous one had ancient roman look, this one looks more modern. But both are blue with lots of gold ornaments 🙂 And this new mini has even 2 heads that you can swap according to your taste – one bare and the other in helmet.

Roboute Guilliman, the Ultramarines primarch
Actually I finished the model of Roboute Guilliman, primarch of the Ultramarines, some time ago but didn’t manage to share the photos until now.
You could have seen the earlier stages of painting in my WIP posts. Some of you may even have wondered if the model was ever going to be finished.
Well, I finished the model some time ago, then I waited for the plinth and for the plaque. Such an important character deserves a decent base after all. 🙂
The model was very enjoyable to paint thanks to good quality of the sculpt and casting. This tends to be my usual experience with Forge World models anyway. It is not the most impressive or memorable of all primarch models, but still I wanted to give him a very commanding presence, and some individual personality while not straying too far from the original Ultramarines imagery.

Recently painting Roboute Guilliman became in good taste, so I decided to paint one myself. It’s definitely painted in my own style. Painting marble on the base was quite a nice fun (I used sepia ink from Vallejo over light beige base).
