freehand painting....help!!!!!!!!
hi all, i am new to chest of colors and after seeing some magnificent minis i am inspired to try freehand painting. i would sincerely appreciate some advice on this subject as i have tried it to very little success. surely there must be a few corner cutting tips. thanks all....davlin.

hey hey, welcome to the boards
When I try freehands I do it like this: Draw the freehand design a couple of times on a piece of paper first. Then use a very diluted paint to build up the freehand on the area that you want it. Use a small brush with a good point. And keep the color of the underlaying surface nearby to correct any mistakes
Don't forget to take your time

I read somewhere a good tip (didn't try yet personally): Varnish the surface where you want to paint the freehand first, this way you'll have a protective layer on it. Paint the freehand on the varnished surface, so using some brush soap you'll be able to remove failed tries without harming the painting below
