Ah, that's nice :) And you choose your opponent? I mean, is it "team" based or is it random?

pairs are drawn randomly by the organiser :)
it's like a football cup - you beat your opponent, you qualify to the next round

isn't it the "you pay to participate" or "you pay if you lose" kind of contest?

This will be my first foray into the IP madness. Probably won't make it out of the first round, assuming I can even get something finished.

Thought about joining, but the 14 days rhythm is too hard for my timetable.

14 days is insane!

Simply thinking about the delay of acquiring a miniature already makes this very hard, only feasible when you have a large pile of unpainted miniatures or a well stocked gaming store around the corner.

What kind of themes can be expected?

it is, but it also makes you do things you wouldn't expect from yourself.
I've personally painted infinity dio with 3 minis on it, huge dragon or chariot with 2 goblins and 3 wolfes for past competitions. you might remember all of these works from my threads.

hard to say, they vary - "OSL", "My Hero"... One of IP competitions had film titles as themes: the colour purple, vertigo...

cool, another CofCer to cheer for :) I saw the usual suspects signed up too - paintminion, bren, neolis, bexley - even if none of them is really active here, I'll consider them my team ;) well, maybe apart from bexley, who will kick me out of IP in the second round for the third concecutive time :)
