Little jimbo's Vald von Carstein

Post by Little Jimbo »

As a new member I think i wanna shear my newest finished mini. so here are my version of Vald von Carstein from GW.
The pictur is not the best but im working on it. I painted him on a afternoon a new record for me and it can be seen in the quality. but i need to speed up my painting if i ever wanna finish any thing. I hope will you enjoy the mini.

Personal I am not to happy with the result of his face the shadows are awful. But despite that I am happy with this mini for and afternoons work. I am looking forward to hearing you comments and critic

Red is nice, though would have go for more depth in the shadows. I like the bluish face. Overall, mini is too glossy for my taste

Those look like two entirely different paintjobs! :)

My first impressions;

glossy! (matt varnish would do the trick or maybe a thinned wash with the GW washes)
needs both more highlights as well as shading
skin looks unfinished (just base colour with blue shades)

Hope this helps. :)

i agree that i seems glossy. andi cant figure out why :x I use vallejo game colors and finish the mini off with a layer of vallejo matt varnish. and I use vallejo as i generally think they turn out less glossy then GW paints.
and yes the shadows need to men deeper on the armor :)

and yes the face is half done i just did not know how to get it better :D
