Verthandi,Burning Ice(final pics+cmon 2nd page)

Post by Juano »

Well, at last I've finished some new stuff so it's time to show something here(at last), hope you like it.

The pics aren't so bad, but the cloak has some more contrast, and the skin isn't that yellow, anyway, here are the pictures:

This is awesome, although your photos are a little coloured by your lamp i suspect. The leathery effect of the cloak and the weathered metallics are superb, i'd be interested to see how you achieved both effects actually. Great work, i think the whole model just looks really good, a spot more colour to brighten it up would have suited my taste but i'm a bit strange. ^^

Great model Juano!!

I really like the skin and the shield looks great. The best part for me is the back of the cape. Very nice textures!
Things I think that could be improved are the hair, because it looks a bit flat. I think it would benefit from stronger highlights. And while the axe looks very nice, it misses a bit of contrast or reflection IMO.

for me the shield is the best element :) love how this weathered metal work with your reds.

and I really like 2 little stones separated from the main baseworks. nice touch :)

definitely the shield is the best eyecatcher here! especially the wonderful metallics there.
it's a pity the axe doesn't stand up to the fantastic quality you achieved on the shield.

not sure about the hair, but the skin looks very interesting for sure.
I can only regret we can't see the model photographed well, without the cast from the lamp...

Thanks for your comments guys! :D

Artica: i first highlighted and shaded the cloak with an airbrush, then drybrushed a little with the light colour, shaded again with the brush ,at last I just painted each crack individually.

Tomaz: I'm happy you like it :) haha everyone thinks that the hair is flat, I'm working on it :)

Nameless : I really enjoyed painting the shield, so I think that's why it looks good :D The base is just made with cork and milliput, it's easy, cheap, and looks great :D

Mahon: I'm working on the hair, I will add some more contrast to the axe :) I have to buy a white light, because pics look crappy....

Thanks again! :D

I thought the mini is ready, because I found it in the showcase section. But yeah, improving the hair is a good decision!

You live in Spain, so daylight should be available there for many hours a day now. Why don't you try to use daylight for photos?
Get yourself some kind of light diffusor and take the girl outside or at least close to a window :curtain:
And get yourself a grey background. It will make adjusting white balance easier for your camera...

Pandadosmares: thanks! :P

Mahon:Yes, we have good daylight :) ,sometimes I've tried to take some pics with it, but they look strange, I don't know how to take them properly , so I use two lamps.
The next time I'll try a medium grey background!

PS: yes, the figure was ready , but when people tell me something I can improve I usually work on it afterwards :D

very good attitude!

you need to diffuse daylight because otherwise you may get too strong shadows.
but this thread is not the right place to talk about photography and soon some zealous moderator will kick the poor admin in his butt for bringing the subject here. ;)
