I was always wondering, why do the final versions look so much better than the step-by-step illustrations in the tutorials.
Is there a never-documented secret-final-touch step that nobody reveals
or people just don't bother making good photos during painting?

yep, the right one looks more like bright NMM, while the one on the left looks like weathered metallics.
the tutorial is very good anyway!

Yeah, and not only the blades. The skin is also much smoother and has different color than in the tutorial.
