elf

Post by Ana »

Hi everyone This is my elf ImageClick to see full-sized image
When I painted him I told myself that elves are cool, and will be nice if I paint something for the new. I was trying to like the commercial imagery of wood elves on this example. In my idea wood elves have changing skin (simultaneously with changes seasons their complexion changes . In autumn wood elves should have skin with a little earthy or yellow tint.)
As for the shape of wood elf minis I would like to combine the GW and Thunderbolt Mountain versions

Damn it people!! Why do you have to be soo good?! Bah!! :( I like alot, the skin is earthy (if a little dead looking IMO) and the clothing is well done - I like the bits about the knees. Oh and the gold... very nice. I just think the model looks quite human and less elvish, but that's nothing to do with you.

Nice colours Ana, good work! I like the concept of the Wood Elves changing skin colours in the different seasons but re-paintning your models every few months would be a pain in the ass! :P

I like the use of earth tones on this mini, like he's coming straight from the woods. the sculpt itself is not my favourite, the head has the wrong proportions to the body I think.

the simple base is very effective! what materials did you use on it?

:P This is not mini from HF. It is a Thunderbolt Mountain mini.
For trousers, the base colour I used was CAYMAN GREEN (VGC 67). For highlights I used KHAKI (VMC 988) and for shade I used USA OLIVE DRAB (VMC 889).

Metal base under his feet I cut away and used GS and ready plastic leaves.
