Dwarf Tales - Polish Miniature Company

Post by Szary »

Here is advert of new Polish miniature company! Well... they specialize in dwarves mostly... ok, they produce only dwarves and anything connected with them (like t-shirts).
Their official website is: www.dwarftales.com
On ebay you can bought their products for about $12 per blister (3 minis) or 35zl on allegro.pl. Minis are made from white metal.

For me it looks very promising! I heard that guy who run this business is known as Kubasa.
Good to see another polish mark :)

I saw them already today and am wishing Kubasa good luck! I'm glad there are more and more Polish manufacturers of minis. These didn't impress me too much - compared to what I am used to - but should be good for the start.
I just don't know if he is aware how thin line he's walking with all these concepts which arevery close to GW copyrighted stuff. And GW showed more than once how much they do to protect their IP...

In this case border is very thin. Dwarves are everywhere, not only in GW. Kubasa gave them a freezing climate, made his own arts in different style, and is producing a unit which existed in GW range a loooong time ago. Hard to say what GW would do...

OK, I meant the trollslayer imagery on the T-shirt and the artwork obviously referring to GW imagery too.
I didn't say it to criticize but just to warn, as I've heard and experienced enough GW interventions in auctions even when nothing seemed to be wrong. And there's little you can do about it...

They do look similar but more in the artwork than in the miniature form.

I saw some of Kubasa's work on Cmon and always liked it.

I wish him good luck and hope to see some more surprising work from him than these first batch of minis. (which are okay but not that special to stand out in mini land these days!)

basing on a very reliable source, I can assure you that they won't be selling dwarfs only (they've already mentioned orcs).

I will watch them, some really cool stuff is bound to come out from Kubasa's hands.

(btw, I thought I will be first to spread the news... but if info was spread so quick, it's only better for DwarfTales)
