Nameless' WIPs

Post by Nameless »

This type of thread is getting popular, doesn't it?
Anyway, here are few of my current wip pieces. Not that I have anything to show off (especially among you guys) :D I suppose I have to give opportunity for all people criticised by me to kick me back ;)
3 minis below are all from the Reaper DHL line.

Mercenary - simple, dynamic sculpt of Herr Klocke. No fancy stuff, just as I like. Too many buckles, though. Some really awful mould lines on this mini, in places where I couldn't get rid of them without damaging the mini itself  Two evenings of painting so far.

Angel of Death - old piece by Bob Olley. Always wanted to paint this model, so I've chosen it for my Warlord warband instead of original gargoyle. Painted in one evening. Few touches left to finish this mini.

Death Knight - also used as a replacement for Warlord model. Drybrush exclusively :)

Andrea Elf 54mm - as you can see, this is actually only his cloak. rest of the model is also painted, but parts are not glued together and much can be shown at the moment. The thing above the cloak is NOT his head :P
I'm absolutely amazed by the way this cloak looks on a photo! It's not that good in reality, transitions are not smooth

I hope to post more often here. Perhaps I will even finish a model some day...

haha beared nameless begin to like painting....and that's great....i'm not fan of the first one

but the second is very good and the blend on the cloak is very smooth...may be you have to add highlight to the top of the cloak for a zenithal effect

i'm impressed to see that in real

I also wanted to say what Stefan said - it's great to see more works from you, especially so good like the first one. My only complaint abnout it is that the metallics are a bit grainy. It might be the sculpt (because I don't know this particular one) or some problems with your paints. The face on this one is really cool!

The other favorite is the elf, or rather his cloak. Very smooth and the colors are rich and nice. Unfortunately the comment about his head is nearly unavoidable

Thanks for tips, guys.

@Stefan - what do you mean by "beared"?
I've always liked painting minis, but I unfortunately do not do that very often. That's why I like CoC - you are making me wanna paint :)

@Demi - feel invited for a WL game :) I thought I had posted pics of my gaming table  I'll check proper forum's sectionand eventually post some pics.

@Mahon - grainy metallics are a result of drybrushing and not dilluting. I'm aware of those mistakes, but decided to ignore them because I want to finish this piece and move to another. After looking at pics however I decided to improve metallics in few places.

Few pics (sorry for quality!) of my recent painting activity.
