What would you like to see as a tattoo?

Post by ToMaZ »

Hi everybody,

Because I follow art school, a friend of mine asked me if I could design him a tattoo. So today I went to a tattoo parlor to ask the owner if he would have any problems with using my design on my friend. Off course he didn't have any problems with it.
And appareantly he was very impressed with my design because he asked me to make more drawings and if they were good enough he would buy them from me. Now I've written down some ideas, but I need more.

So, what figure would you like to have/see as a tattoo? Everything is allowed, but not the traditional heart with "I love my Mom" ;) or something like that.
He said that fantasy figures are very popular these days, so those are welcome too.

If I'll work out one of your ideas, I will make sure to show it to you guys :)

Thnx

Could you also show the one you designed already? And I'll think about what I would like to see.

I'm actually considering getting a little more ink, so if you come up with something that I like I might ask for a copy. ;) :D

great topic :D
I am wondering about getting a tattoo but I still can't find a proper design;
I thought about something based upon midevial danse macabre drawings (especially german or french) but they appear too "flat" for me :(
on the other hand I don't want some cute, color, rubbish picture

so...
please, help ToMaZ :D

sure, I'm working on one right now. (It's always inspiring if someone likes your work) This is a 20 minutes sketch. So it's dirty and has a lot of lines that don't belong there, but they will get cleaned later.

do you mean something like this: Danse Macabre

I'm not really familiar with Danse Macabre, I only know that there is a classical song with that title. If that's the genre you're looking for, I could allways give it a go. It will be quite a challange I think :)

of course these are only general ideas of poses or conception; I wouldn't wear on my skin anything with such stupid face-look (eee... "skull-look" )

I see what you mean with flat, but that can be adjusted with many shades of grey and black. Adding shades creates much more depth in a drawing. I like the Idea behind them so I think I'll try some of those later on ;)

And in the meanwhile I've made some progress on my tattoo drawing... It's still dirty, but I've made the lines stronger and more clear.

I've put him in a link so the topic would not be slowed down by the many pictures.

I don't know exaclty what it is  It started as a weird shape, then came the weird head and now it's just... euhm... weird :D
Somehow it reminds me a little of a goblin.
Later on I will put in on top of a lightbox to copie him, because I can't get rid of all the pencil lines. So he will be much cleaner then he is now :)
