Does anybody play this game?

Do you still remember that some people use miniatures for gaming?

Does anybody play this game?

Post by Skrit »

So, does anybody play this game? I've been looking at the miniature range and must say I like a lot of the miniatures. Soon I might order some of the bigger ones just too paint/have.

I was just wondering if this is an easy game to play. So if you have played it please share. :)

It seems to be pretty popular but not even comprable to GW games.

And it's earning popularity in Poland too...

I've just started to play it. Allthough I don't know the rules exactly (yet). The miniatures looks really good. It's nice you don't need between 50 & 100 models to play a decent game like with GW. Buy a starters box and you have about a 300 points. Ideal to start playing and learning the rules. And with 500 points you can play a decent game (as I've been told)

If anyone's interested in Warmachine, but they don't sell it in a store near you, here's an interesting e-bay store.

e-bay store

For europeans it's quite handy because of the current rate of exchange. $ 1.26 is about 1?. So a startersbox (battle group box) which in the e-bay store costs $ 28.99, equals 23 ?. A startersbox in a regular store, costs about 40?.

I don't know what the shipping costs are outside the US, but I think that when you order some larger quantities or together with some friends, you'll save a considerable amount of money.

So maybe someone's interested

*If this is not the right place to post this, please say so :) I'll remove it.. or some of the mods will*

From what I've heard, it's a bit similar to Confrontation by means of being a skirmish game, but it's a lot faster. Confrontation involves a bit of math, you are constantly adding dice results to values and comparing those to tables and the other player's stats. But Warmachine is a lot more simple...

Why not try a demo? I see those Privateer Press demo guys at nearly every big game fair I visit, so :)

Warmachine is a great game we play it every now and again. I like the fact that their are rules for Jacks to grab things with thrir fists. The rules are fast and easy to learn.
