the bases are fantastic! As to what colour, I like muddy colours personally. So if I were to do them I would probably end up with a range of browns. A bit boring to some though. If its for mordhiem, you might want to link them to a particular city in the game world and use their colours.

After years of painting unifoms is really hard to me to paint in that "warband" manner. They will be from Reikland - my knowlege of city and province colours is very limited. If somebody have a good references it will be great...

my army book says white. But is copyright 1993 and a few editions old. You might want someone with a newer book to confirm it.

To my knowledge it was/is black/white so you both are right! Maybe divide the mini's in four and do a black and white pattern on them... (so one leg white and one side of the torso and the other sides black?)

My knowledge of the fluff is not very good but the minis are looking great. The game is about a Damned City so I think that going with a dark colour scheme would realy fit in.

the bases look very convincing. Since you are painting very basic troopers here, I would opt for a variety of browns on your cholor scheme, to give em a 'poor mans look'. Maybe you could put in a dirty red or green for the pants or shirts, as long as it doesn't take all the attention.
