Fellowship of the Ring

Post by tidoco2222 »

A little while back I bought the Fellowship of the Ring set of minis and also managed to get hold of the Balin's tomb display base. Well after having it sat around on a shelf for ages staring at me I decided to make a start at painting it. I have started this thread with the intent of posting the progress from start to finish so keep a look out for updates as there will be many. Also please feel free to comment or criticise.

Gandalf is the first on the list to be painted and this is how far I got with him today.

The minis themselves are going to be a pleasure to paint it is the base that I am not looking forward to but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

cheers Tim.

At last I have some time off work and I can now dedicate some serious time to this project, this morning I have been busy with getting Gandalf further along and now he is almost done, A couple of little details and then that is it.
I will be basing all the fellowship at the same time I do the Balin's tomb base so I don't loose the continuity of the whole piece.

Next on the list when Gandalf is complete will be Gimli. I hope you like it so far.

I am very pleased with the finished result. Next on the list is Gimli and I have started the mini and made good progress on it, he is such a detailed mini andso small that he is actually very difficult quite the reverse of Gandalf. Here he is as he looks at present.

The red so far looks very dark but also like it was made of a very expensive piece of cloth. I like the way it looks!:)
