socles?

How to convert or sculpt a miniature? How to make a decent base or even a full diorama?!

socles?

Post by Trovarion »

does anyone know a good site for socles? I've come to notice that there's not much use in planing a diorama if you dont have a sockle at hand ^^

I only know the Andrea socles so far but they dont have any i can use...

i thought andrea socles have a lot of different sizes, hard to believe that you cant use any of them...

Christoph, if you tell me what you're looking for (size and such) I might be able to help you out! I have a rather nice collection of socles lying around here.:)

I was looking at these socles:

https://www.woodenbases.co.uk/diorama_bases.php

the DIO8 one would be perfect, or an oval base of 170x120mm or around that...

must admit that i am a little confused about how to order/pay at that site...

Well I've got similar bases which are 14cm/10,5. I'll see if I can take a piccie for you...

Edit:

Here is the base. It's a bit dark the pic but gives you an idea how it looks like. The pic might suggest it's black but it is a dark brown.

On it there is small metal strip with the name of a statue it once came with. It's very easy to take it of!

At the bottom of the screen on the page you were looking at Trovarion there is a link to the order form. They seem to only take Cheque or PO though, no credit card.

it looks awesome, but comparing it to my sketches I fear 100mm is too slim :( 120 was the minimum I could settle with. I need to fit 2 miniatures (one kneeling the other one standing in front of it) in the middle of it and one more mini behind the tow of them to their left and a wall on the right...the front of the dio should "run out" towards the front boarder, in other words you should see thew base coming through there and I need about 2 cm there to make it look good :S
