It might be a bit out of place on this fig, but I think that traditional coloured tau armour is great for adding some battle damage and scratches ;)

Painting this one for a contest on YouTube. Not aiming too high, just having fun.

Glad you like the jacket. It's painted using my latest experimental technique, which contains knowledge gotten from Ana's brush tutorial, a tutorial from some French guy (forgot his name), very thing paint, 5 layers of shading and 5 layers of zenithal highlighting.

Ever since I picked up the brush again I'm trying out something new on every surface I paint, really looking for a new way of painting that suits, looks like I hit bulls-eye with this one.

Thanks for comparing with Nomic, it's a very big compliment for me since I'm a big fan of his work as you might know.

I wonder if you're going to run out of surfaces or techniques sooner :P

Well done. And the compliment was not intentional, but I am glad you're happy about the similarity. Yeah, Nomic definitely knows how to use highlightsfor the best results

quick picture (with flash) straight from the desk, so not the best
I had some doubts about the NMM on the sword, but on the picture it turned out pretty good I think. The highlights should have been more on the bottom than on the tip, but the blending is the smoothest I've ever done.
