Posted a quick proof-of-concept here https://www.chestofcolors.com/forum/view ... =37&t=6074 a while back, but work on the 'real' unit has advanced a lot.

Here's a group shot of all figures with their basecoat and shading done, then one Terminator with his armour completely done.

That's looking very good and has a nice weathered look about it, could definately be used for plague marines/deathguard too.

Actually, you see this technique more often used on Death Guard models. Works okay with these too, gives them a battleworn gritty look.

yeah, when I first saw them I thought: Nurgle.
they look interesting even if they're not like what comes to my mind when I think Deathguard.

I've been thinking about applying the same streaky technique to Nurgle: brown-red basecoat and then streaking with green mixed in, should be worth the try in my opinion.

I rather like deathguard in bleached bone but i think you should try it and see

While the streaky look seems to fit a Nurgle marine better I think that this could end up being a very cool take on the Deathwing.

add scratches and damage and they can be really nice weathered deathwing veterans, indeed!

quick (and quite dark) picture after I've finished the red. The green areas are also blocked out with the basecoat already.

The red parts make them look pretty oldschool And they're more raspberry-colored than red. Yum yum!
