Nice concept :-)
Water pipe effect looks best, I like it. Also the front part of the mini is painted very good - dark shades, highlights. The back part is in lower quality. The mini makes big contrast with the dark base. The barrel and the plant look very cool.
Did it say in competition`s rule that mini has to have a summer motive?
miniatures painted:
2011 - 83, 2012 - 38, 2013 - 45, 2014 - 56, 2015 - 95, 2016 - 106, 2017 - 22

my category said something about swamps, rivers, mud and funny smells. but, to be honest I didn't really care about the theme. I wanted to use the contest deadline as a motivator - and it worked again :)

13/2010 - I Cry When Angels Deserve To Die

Post by Nameless »

I didn't post anything for a long time, but in the meantime I think I learned few new tricks and managed to take my skills another step up.
This is my first Pegaso model (new company again, yay!). Pretty big - 80mm scale. Every time I looked at it or was painting it I recalled excerpt of a System of a Down song - I cry when angels deserve to die. It wasn't an inspiration for me, just a thought that got stuck in my head :)

Glorious reds, really good work!
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

Wow this is a huge step up and i think the improvement is seen in this mini. Some areas could be smoother and highlights on the cloth would be better if done slightly more zenithially, but im very taken away and impressed by your new found skill, it really suits your style. The colour choices are very complimentary and done in a very bright a vivid manner which really stand out for the mini. I think this is by far my favourite piece from you.

That's really nice work, I love the skintones and the black cloth and also the color of the wings. One thing bothers me (just a tiny) bit and that's her hair color, I find it a bit too yellow for my taste.
