Hi there! Some of you might have been thinking where I've been, well as you might have heard I'm about to move into my new house. There's still an insane amount of work to be done but the end is in sight and we hope to move in by the end of this month.

Needless to say there isn't any time left for miniature painting. In fact I've packed up most of my stuff already.

The good news is that in my new house I will have a dedicated painting room of almost 20 square meters. So there will be plenty of room for a big desk, display cabinets, a dedicated photo setup etc. I really want my new studio to be installed perfectly before I start painting there. But of course the rest of the house has a higher priority.

I have some hopes to start painting again somewhere in October, but this will more probably be November or December or event next year.

Hey all!

I'm glad to announce the move is over. In fact we moved last Wednesday, which was a public holiday here in Belgium so there were a lot of helping hands available :)

Most of the furniture is in place and most of the bathroom, kitchen and kids stuff is unpacked. But there are still loads of boxes and bags to unpack. I was really amazed by the amount of stuff someone could gather in such a short period (5-6 years). We have a couple of very busy months behind us so we are going to take our time to unpack everything.

At the moment I am not even thinking about furnishing the painting room. The room itself is finished: new floor covering and wallpaper, painted the ceiling, etc but it's currently our stacking space for all the stuff we have moved. So first step is to clear the room. After that a big cupboard should be assembled there (which used to be in our bedroom). After that I can measure everything up and see where I want to put everything.

So no painting for me any time soon. We're going on holiday at the end of August so I'm thinking about picking up some space marines or something similar and do some low quality painting on them to get into the mood again. Hopefully somewhere in September I can start installing the new painting studio...

if you placed your boxes properly, you could make some kind of a painting station... just a thought ;)

This works in theory, but right now the entire room is one big mess :)
I still have a makeshift portable painting station made from a cardboard box and the boxes containing my paints and brushes are within reach, but then again I wouldn't have the time for it.

I'd rather install everything properly first and then start painting again.

Great choice of colours.
I like these alternative skintones. Like Drow. My favorite modell ist Ysra. it was a lot of fun painting her.

I started doing some brainstorming for my next project: a unit of Black Scorpion undead pirates. I hope I can prepare them in one of the few weeks so I can start painting them during my holiday (starting 16 August). If you want to help me with some ideas for the showbase please read this thread: https://www.chestofcolors.com/forum/view ... =38&t=6665

So these are the miniatures, I bought them at last year's Crisis and the target was to have them painted for the painting competition this year. So that's my goal (Crisis is held in November). They're not that finely detailed, and besides the bones I can easily paint each one separately.
