Thanks Mahon, not surprising at all. I still like painting miniatures, but I have other things which have taken me enough time and I have to manage my time carefully and precisely, but CofC is always in my mind even I am not physically post anything here in the past. I do visit the forum sometimes, but just did not have time to post only, haha.
Thanks Mahon for the tips, and thanks for Thomas, Mahon and Lothar added me in facebook.
Hey, I guess all three of you have seen my ugly face from facebook's photos, haha. I will figure out how to upload my ugly photo to CofC now. The forum avator function showed me that the size can be only smaller than 80 X 80 pixel.
And if I am right, I see Mahon and his son's photo in the facebook. Congrat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ mahon, 1 more silly question, do you use photo tent / diffuse box when taking mini photos?

@ Demi, lol, thx for your info, but then ...... mahon said that we need to diffuse the light, how to do that without a photo tent?

iirc mahon waits for some cloudy sky - such light is perfect for minis

I use the tent because I have no time for waiting for a proper weather

@ demi, then what kind of photo lights you use? any specification of the lights? I will gather all these info in these few days and discuss with my photography friend.

by placing sheet of paper used for technical drawings (can't recall how it is called in english at the moment) between the light source and mini.

Just like Nameless said - if you have clear tracing paper it's decent as a diffusor for your lamps. not perfect but it will do.
I used tents but never got as good results as with natural light so I tend to wait for good light. As I have a window facing north, that's not very difficult.
