I painted the metallics today because I won't have much time to paint this week I think.
I've forgotten to take pics of the first 2-3 steps but they were basecoating and washing steps anyway;
I decided on some brass/verdegris metals. I think it would look nice with the brown and forest themed models.
Since it was all brown up to now, it would be a nice way to work in some green.
The metallics started of with a basecoat of VGC brassy brass (I love this color)
Then I washed it 2x with a mix of Dark Green Ink, some catachan green and VMC Matt Medium (to take away the shine of the ink.)
I started highlighting the the raised trims by adding P3's Rhulic Gold to the brass.
Then I added more and more VMC metallic medium to the mix.
After highlighting I applied some verdegris with a 2:1 mix of Hawk Turquoise and Dark green ink. (it builds up pretty fast)
Then I edged the trims with almost pure metallic medium (a bit of the brass mix was added)
I also did the hair. It started of with VMC Flat Earth, then highlighted by adding Yellow Ochre to the mix and after highlighting shaded a bit with a Flat earth + VMC burnt umber mix.
The cape was basecoated with burnt umber at this point, a dark brown with a bit of a greenish tint to it.
On to the pics (Time to close your eyes now)
