Use natural colors. Look up some examples of weathered stones. I don't know the names of reaper colors but I'd suggest a darker brown with a touch of green, black and pure green. You can even apply a thin wash of a darker blue, maybe with some green added. I always hit most of the the object a couple of times with all the colors and then I apply random colors to selected spots.
Sometimes I use the black wash afterwards to darken a couple of those selected spots. If I think it's necesary at least.

yeah, and then spend 2 hours adding paint to water and water to paint, and the paint to water again, and...
thx for tips on washes. I think I'll try greens and browns.

True, you might have to do that a couple of times in the beginning, but after that you'll know how much water you need to get the right consistency. It's all practice my friend

There will be a stream flowing in the higher part of the base, falling down to the lower part (small cascade). Hope that you can see on the pic where it will be.

try oil washes of burnt umber it will give a greasy look to your base and will mix perfectly with water and snow

the base looks good so far.
As for the washes i recomend :
-purple ink
-brown ink
-chestnut ink
-green ink
-black
very nice mixture you can do by mixing green ink and brown ink

As I've written before, brown&green seems to be the best choice.
