Haven't been following this WIP yet, but I must say that model looks very good. Especially the light green color of the armor, great color and very well painted.

Green looks OK, but the grey robe looks quite boring. But it's still a WIP, isn't it?

I suppose it should be black robe - highlighting black is just one big pain in the a$$...

But it's very easy to shade. :D

Nah, the robe isn't intentionally black. It's is German Camblack Brown shading with Dark Sea Green for the mid-tone, so I guess that makes the main color a blue-green-gray? You guys are right though, pretty sure I need at least 1-2 more steps up in brightness to make it look more interesting.

Thanks Corvus, but sometimes I think the camera was very kind to those Rex photos. Shading dark green to bleached bone was really difficult and some of the transitions may be rougher than I would like. The idea was to make the armor look like it was a pure ivory turned dingy and mossy, so I suppose there's a little more room for error since the green is grime as opposed to the original armor paint. Haha, totally sounds like I'm talking out my arse.

Question about painting teal oxidization, is that typically only on the bottom of the details?

Small update on what I've been working on the past couple days. I was really pleased with the green transitions on this until I took the photos. Looks like I missed a lot of shading on the shield from the first angle and the overall contrast on everything looks dull.

You can always add the shading now and then rehiglight a little :) but i don't think it's past the point of no change ;)

rule #1 regarding highlighting and shading: when you feel you got it right, add at least one or two more... ;)

Shield is "finished" minus the cords since I haven't chosen a color yet and there's still a couple rough patches in the dark green. This was done with many, many glazes/washes and goes all the way up to pure white at the top (which should make Mahon happy).
