What brand of silver paint is that on the gun and eye patch? It looks really convincing as a metal.

Boltgun metal from GW, worked with black and brown washes and profiled with chainmail and mithril

GW must have improved their metallics then, the last time I used one of their silvers it was very... sparkly and not nice and smooth as you've got it. Thanks for the info, I might have to pop in and buy a pot.

as far as I can remember GW metallics were always among the best acrylic metallics available. few could match the quality...

I like the metalic elements and skin very much, but hair still needs more work

and IMHO the fangs will look better in different color, because at this moment it is too similar color to the straps on the head

strange, I've been using gw paints for many years and I never had any problems with metallics

maybe you just had a badluck

Well, looking at the ork above, I suspect that they've changed the formula of their silver at the very least. Currently I use Daler-Rowney System 3 silver paint which gives a smooth finish much like has been achieved with the ork. In the past, when I've used GW metallics - with the exception of Burnished Gold - I've found the finish somewhat sparkly instead of smoothly metallic. Of course, this could also come down to using paint from a bad batch or any number of other factors.

I confirm that GW metallics are perfect, especially on Black primer, excellent finish.

The bolter and the shoulderpad seem satisfactory to me, the power axe maybe needs you help...suggestions?
