Ork from WD

Post by Docitalicus »

Hi again, this is a WIP of the ork included in WD a couple of months ago. It is a nice miniature, almost well sculpted, and I only made few changes, like to rotate the axe a little and to fold the right shoulder to make the right arm to get a little far from the hip.
I am open to comments, of course, as well as suggestion or criticism.
Thanks fro any feedback
ciao

PS if the pictures are too big, I can certainly use the thumbnails to show on the forum

THIS IS THE PLASTIC MODEL INCLUDED WITH WHITE DWARF?

this only proves that a good paintjob can make even a mediocre model look good... :snooty:

Hey, there's still much to do - the face needs serious improvement as it doesn't look very tidy yet! :curtain:

Looking good but the his head still needs work... ie attaching ;)

Very impressed with your photography skills, what are your settings?
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

Well, my Sony camera settings are: F8, ASA 50, time appropriate for the light, light from 30 degrees above + 30 degrees to the front at both sides of around 40 W 6400 kelvin, and a tentbox. Then I use photoimpact or photoshop for few enhancements or corrections to bring the colors towrds the real ones.
I think that the most critical element is to balance the white upfront.

@demi-morgana...thanks a lot for this wonderful comment...

Looks great so far.

@Mahon: I actually think the level for these plastic minis is pretty high but agree that the paintjob makes them rise higher than their actual level.
Tidoco also did a grant paintjob on this free WD model.
