Great mini Mordred!:D
very nice & dark colorscheme. to me the only thing on the already painted parts is to do blacklining at the point where the leather straps are crossing to gain more sharpness.
i liked the idea of painting the faces of the warpstone as individual gems but i never tryed it:)

Hi Dred!

Looks like you are either using a black undercoat or mixing black in with your base colors for shading, for a white primer guy like me it looks too dark. :) sorry.

One way to get the dark and dirty look without it looking blackened is to lay down several very thing glaze coats of VMC smoke (extra layers in the creases) when using white primer.

I really like the parchment, wood, and skin, though! :)

back shot

a small update before I finish him tomorrow. I'm thinking of giving the base some freehand runes, to make it part of the model. Otherwise it will stay pitch black. Only some minor details have to be done now.

Tell me what you think ! comments are welcome before I varnish him :)

The dark robes look a bit "rubbery" - if I have to try to pick anything :P
I mean they don't look as 'elastic' as normal clothes...

But I am picking to fina anything... anything i'd like less

Make a cool base for him to avoid spoiling such a cool mini :D
The paintjob is great and characterful. And the warpstone - really outstanding!

Nice improvement! The stone turned out very good, I like it a lot :). It was also a good idea to remove the candles, would have been too much.

Mahon has the point with the rubbery look, I hardly can tell what it is, but the robe looks a bit strange. I'm not sure though, if this is only an effect of the relatively bright picture.

What else can I say... The backpack and the pouches look nice, but nothing special. The claw is nicely detailed. The frog on the shoulder looks a bit rough from behind.
I like the skintone, but the beard is a bit too blue for my taste. The idea with the blue tone is good, but that's too blue for me :).

That's all I found now, overall a nice mini. With a nice base, it'll rock... Maybe you could keep the base also dark, as he was standing in a cave or stone corridor, with torch smoke-darkened stones, spiderwebs, bones and stuff :).

the rubbery look of the robes is because of the reflection of light I think. If you look at the first WiP shots, those give a much better look at the robes without the reflections.

there are some subtle colour differences on the backpack that are not visibile on this pic ... I'll have to make sure I take sharp pictures once he's finished. I'm gonna redo the frog's back a little bit to smoothen out the blending. It's the smoke glaze that gives it the rough look I think.

The base won't be too fancy ... no spiderwebs or super detailed stuff. He allready has a cobblestone base, but you can't see it on this picture. I have to take pics from an angled point of view too. I think I'm going to look for a nice pattern on the internet and copy it onto the pot lid :)
