@ToMaZ - great mini
many thanks for advices about playing

I thought about confrontation but the minis... they are TOO cool for me

I mean there is too many details to be painted properly by me (at least yet...

); I love rackham's undead

maybe I'll decide to buy some warmachine - cryx of course

; small amount of minis to play and simple rules is just what I need...

Lol! At one time I also thought there was only GW!

But then again that was a long time ago and now we are spoiled with all those excellent new companies!
Great Space Marine btw!

I started with metal miniatures as a Dungeon master with the first of the TSR metal miniatures for D & D. Can not find any of them, but painted them with testors model paints. . . . .
BEfore that it was Model WWII aircraft and model railroad cars. . . . Oh and the occasional 1/32 german tank or three. . .

i started painting minis in 1994, when my brother bought the WFB box. Then, after a year WH40K followed.
i own a khorne/undivided chaos army for WFB and an eldar one for 40K.
since...1999 i stopped playing and keep only painting. but i'm not a great painter, and i'm a slow one too, expecially now that my eyes begin to cross while doing smaller minis.
Now i paint every beautiful mini i find, many time a Rackham one.
Here is one of my first works:

Others are on my website.
Ahh the old days!

beautiful cow, Lai
I started by reading about Traveller (the RPG) in one of Polish magazines a long time ago, then I knew that if I would find a RPG I would be caught
Then I managed to get a copy of D&D, we started playing it, and in the meantime I read something about miniatures. I met a guy who already had an army of Dwarfs, IIRC bought in the UK. He generously sold us one of the minis to represent my brother's RPG character.
Then, in the times of early 4the edition of WFB I managed to buy some plastic elves, gobbos, and.. dwarfs... And then my brother and I started collecting dwarfs!
Then it was too late to quit

I started with Warhammer Fantasy Role Play. I was the gamemaster for a while.
One time a friend gave me a old school marine. I painted it with those paints that children paint in school

I also had a goblin fanatic. My first conversion was that marine mixed with the goblin

Head of the marine, torso of the goblin

Looked great
The real painting started about two years ago when my girlfriend bought me the painting starter set from GW. Since then with some breaks I've been painting

it's similiar to taking cocaine - when You start it's too great fun just to stop...

It was the second metal mini i bought, for approx 10 euros
and i remember a guy who told me to buy the red glaze color when i bought my first colorset, because "it is a great color, and mixed with white gives a beautiful pink".
well, that glaze is still here, one of the most useless colors for me
and the most useless color I have is "green wash" I got from a friend several years ago. I used it... maybe.. once? twice?
