I'll try to provide better pics - whole thing was one big experiment and I am also quite dissapointed about final look of icicles :(

Nice work demi :D i think the reason the icicles look a little strange is that they are a bit too big for such a thin tree. If they were about a 1/4th of the size they are and more of them, that might work better. I love what you've done with the chunks of ice in the water, is it just plasticard? :D and the colouration of the water adds so much to the model too. I want closer pics too :) so we can see the painting, but as it stands i really dig this. Oh, did you paint the sides of the water too?

I like this diorama a lot and the photo is very good too. Is this model so small or is it just a small photo?
What doesn't really convince me is the way the ice is broken. I would break it only around the model, not on the whole surface, but it could be just my preference...

love this dio and water/ice effect.. although i dont understand why soulhunter runs toward the water? is he run away? maybe go for some fishing? ;) dont get me wrong, i like whole winter atmosphere you build.. but i dont see any sense in this composition..
imHo you should add another mini and create some interaction :)

actually I thought it will look better if iciclews are longer and more exposed - apparently I was terribly wrong :( oh well - it's valuable lesson for the future :)

yeah... :?
looks like water effect from the bottom of the can (I run out of my artifical water on this piece) fas worse properties than rest of water I used and it didn't want to harden - it was soft and I couldn't polish it to make sides transparent :? moreover I damaged sides of base with sandpaper so there was no other choice - I had to paint it

maybe winter is not a good moment for making water bases? you were not the only person experiencing similar problems...
