seriously - what you both say is pretty surprising. no contest because of the computer? judging behind closed doors? some odd choices for a painting contest

that's why our Polish SoD contest was successful! we didn't have a computer!

It all sounds funny and quite silly. There must have been some more important problem...

Some nice paintjobs in there indeed!
It was really silly and stupid doing the behind closed doors thing. I went there to see class painted stuff ( which was thankfully still there in the form of painted manufacturer figs!) from the competition and not because of the demo games and even not per sé of the manufacturers so that was a big let down for me!

Well, that is what the guy behind the computer told me (after I asked him why they found my one miniature better then the other, which btw they really couldn't explain). This year it took him 180 (!!) hours to make the computer programme for counting the scores from all the judges and still they had a delay on the day itself. If indeed it took him so many hours I can understand why it's too much work to do it all again next year, but like I already said, what's wrong with a calculator. And if they were making a first cut like Gerrie said, it wouldn't be so much work. I guess they could leave the door open during the judging as well. So I guess everybody's happy thenczlowiek.morze wrote:It all sounds funny and quite silly. There must have been some more important problem...
And I also heard there will be no Mini Art Con next year... makes me worry a bit, all the fun cons around here have problems. I guess we'll have to go to Salute next year

come to Poland, we don't need computers for judging and we do the first cut

Bren what about organizing our own Con?
With lots of painting demos and of course a great competition and we'll be the judges
