Re: Space Hulk
Nope. I'm not going to buy one either. I'm not interested in boardgames.

Re: Space Hulk
I heard they had 100.000 copies made. I am taking my chances and see if I can pick up a copy on a later date...
Re: Space Hulk
I'll let myself believe it's not really going to be limited edition
Re: Space Hulk
For you guys sake I hope its not limited, its a great game with incredible minis... I was considering converting the terminators chapter but damn... damn...damn... the details are SO NICE that I would never be able to cut or file them off.
Tomaz man is a bit redundant not getting this because its a boardgame... theres much more interest to this deal than just that... its like i will not buy any fantasy or 40k mini to have fun with because... I dont like wargames, or i will not buy hell dorado or old rackham because i dont like skirmish.
Sure many love and many will not like this, its like any other product, I guess people who played it in the old days have lots of good memories, many started 40k due to spacehulk in those times so there is also a big nostalgic factor.
Also people who never played it dont know this was one of the simplest/ addictive/deepest games ever made... apart from the game you have some of the finest GW plastics to date.

Re: Space Hulk
I can surely understand sentiment issues, Nav.
As for minis - if they were available separately, I would consider buying one. Your reasoning does not convince me. I'm with ToMaZ here - I'm not into board games AND I don't need 10 termies and 20 stealers. These are TWO reasons for me to not buy SH. Same applies to Helldorado or any other line/game/product. I'm tempted to buy 1 or 2 minis, but I'm not interested in starter set

Re: Space Hulk
Nav, I'm not getting it just because it's a boardgame. I should have made my first post clearer, but that's what you get when you have to hurry
It's not that I don't ever play boardgames, I do play some if my friends like to
Although I don't own any boardgames myself.
I also never played the first space hulk and I don't really get all the fuss
I can understand your sentimental reasons and won't judge you or anyone else because they would buy the box. Just have fun and enjoy it and if it's really limited, take good care of it.
Honestly I'm just a fan of miniatures and enjoy collecting and painting them. While I really do like the character figures in this box, I'm not going to buy it. If I would, I'd maybe play it a few times, paint two figs and after that, all will collect dust. I never have bought a full box of figs, because I like just one and won't do so now. Besides, for that amount money I can buy other miniatures that I like maybe even more.
So I hope you understand that I'm not letting it pass by solely because I don't really enjoy boardgames, it's a combination of different factors

Re: Space Hulk
Neither was I trying to convince you or anyone, just saying, as you did, there is the boardgame AND super miniatures on this deal that could appeal to painters, collectors etc as much as any wargame, skirmish game etc... Since when we get limited on our purchases due to publishers agendas?... I buy tons of minis on variable places if I like them, not because they have X rules or are atached to X game, thats all I'am saying.
Sure you can detest boardagames to the death and even if they put superb minis in it you hate them also... just not a fair argument towards part of the product.
I'm a sucker for starters because it ussually involves nice savings.

Re: Space Hulk
Sure thing mate... Even if you did its your perrogative mate... for example rackham could now make the uber miniatures that I would never get them, sometimes we are just unreasonable about things ehehe.ToMaZ wrote: So I hope you understand that I'm not letting it pass by solely because I don't really enjoy boardgames, it's a combination of different factors
Re: Space Hulk
I like swords
but on topic, the more i look at the models the more i want to play now !
. What im going to do was to magnetise the models so they could fit onto 40k bases too so that i could use them for wargaming purposes too
I want to see the models themselves in person before i plan much more than that as an idea

Re: Space Hulk
I wanna post longer sentence too
as for space hulk game - I once saw old hulk g-stealer model but never got any occasion to play this game, in fact I never had opportunity of playing many games I wanted but looks like now it's just something I have to deal with
new models look really nice and tempting but unfortunatelly I don't think I'll have enough spare time to play this game not mentioning painting all 30 minis; that's actually the only reason I haven't ordered the box yet - but for cthulhu's sake: if I cannot play arkham horror I won't be playing space hulk either!
cthulhu fhtagn!
