Well it will be interesting to see how all the wips shown here turn out as the marine is quite nice in and of itself. After seeing the relighted pic I am more inclined to think that is the truer look of the model and I have to agree with everyone on the fact that the freehand is very good. Makes the model stand out.

Your work is really nice, it's all neat and you have good colour in the models, personally i prefer more contrast (but im a bit of a NMM nutter :bonk: ) I like the freehand but i think you could have blended it a bit more into the shield. But still saying that it's good. Your other pieces are coming along nicely too :) and the sculpted leg bit looks pretty darn cool, i want to see more ! :D.

yes you are and i love it! about to start working on sigvald in NMM ofc, really stoked. i would have liked to blend the free-hand in more but i think if you saw it in RL you
would change your mind like i did, its so small and tight that i think it might have started to disappear. keep tuned, ill try and get pics up in the next day or two. unfortunately
i will be away all of july so almost no painting and very few posts, july climbing trip for the win!!

wohoo, some new mini's and some new paints on order aswell as a Monique De Noir (54mm) on order, super stoked on her. the reaper mini i was painting is gonna be
stripped. the NMM belt is not gold enough, to much light and dark and not enough golden in between aswell as being a little chalky and the skin, though decent enough
for a first attempt with a new technique, really isnt working for me. i applied my juices to thick, need less paint on the brush and more patience :P i ordered 8 reaper
master series triads which ive never used before aswell as some P-3, also never used before. cant wait, theyll be waiting for me when i return from my climbing trip!

Lots going on, I look forward to updates :D
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

as ive mentioned ive been away for about a month climbing and havent posted any new wips, now that im back and working on a new project i thought i should get some up. once again experimenting with "juices". the earlier model i was experimenting with i have put aside for now, i wasnt enjoying working on it.

my new project im am really enjoying, its an amazing sculpt and i feel the juices are coming much better though theres much room for improvement. i apologise for the pics....once again the color temp needs to be fixed, forgot about it when i was shooting and cant figure out how to correct it :(

I like the shading you achieved on his skin (lower parts of his back and his stomach) and the way you painted gold on his belt.
hard to say much about the rest, and the photos seem a bit yellowish. are the colors represented well or is the photo's white balance off?
