Mahon, I actually have 1 W&N brush and I managed fine doing the eyes of my Sea Elf with that (it's a Cotman III 00) so with that in mind I'm happy to get the choice of some pure Sable brushes of the Vallejo line as a gift ;) that should last me for the next few years of heavy painting or the rest of my life as a lazy arse hobby painter

Does the set of 2,0,3/0 & 5/0 sound about right for me or should I get a few 4/0's to add to the set... decisions, decisions... I'm going to buy something tonight as my Parents just gave me the case and my bank gave me a ?100 overdraft (Muhahaha the fools!).

Unless someone has any other ideas I'll be ordering the brushes and a set of the Game Colour (thanks Demi and Nameless for your opinions) tonight so I'd better make up a list of the 'standard colours' from the available list!!!
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

I believe it's the following (GW Equivalent in brackets)...

72001 Dead White (Skull White)
72006 Sunblast Yellow (Sunburst Yellow)
72008 Orange Fire (Fiery Orange)
72010 Bloody Red (Blood Red)
72022 Ultra Marine Blue (Ultramarine Blue)
72028 Dark Green (Dark Angels Green)
72030 Goblin Green (Goblin Green)
72034 Bonewhite (Bleached Bone)
72036 Bronzed Flesh (Bronze Flesh)
72040 Cobra Leather (Snakebite Leather)
72043 Beasty Brown (Bestial Brown)
72049 Stonewall Grey (Fortress Grey)
72051 Black (Chaos Black)
72052 Silver (Mithril Silver)
72054 Gunmetal (Boltgun Metal)
72055 Polished Gold (Burnished Gold)

I know what you mean about the snow and foam but I'm loathed to use Baking Soda and that's my only other option for the short term ;)

solid set of colors - I use most of them;
waiting to see your foam/snow in action - I hate soda as well and use it ONLY if I am forced to

Look what the postman delivered today...

[rimg]https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa20 ... Medium.jpg[/rimg]

I was a bit concerned with the DAMAGED BOX especially as is clearly says FRAGILE on it but when I opened it up there was no damage to any of the contents (*phew*)

First I checked out the brushes...

[rimg]https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa20 ... Medium.jpg[/rimg]

Now I know my W&N was a 2/0 but these are MUCH SMALLER than I thought they would be and I envisage saving the 5/0 and 10/0 purely for the detailing and eyes

Then the Snow and Varnish...

[rimg]https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa20 ... Medium.jpg[/rimg]

A small bottle of Matt Varnish and the Snow/Wave effect bottle is a bit bigger (looking forward to having a play with that later 8)) so that should last me a long time!

Lastly the Paints...

[rimg]https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa20 ... Medium.jpg[/rimg]

The paints are a nice range and I reckon if I top up with the odd one or two from time to time they should last me the best part of this year and into next year as well (here's hoping I need to buy more sooner rather than later because I'm painting so much )

A final shot of the lot...

I'm so happy right now :D

Yes with my guidance, she refused to let me make my own as it's a present  so all I can do is burn them into the dowel handles I'm (I mean she's) going to make for them ;)
