yep, I also noticed this similarity. John tended to use much browns for shading, and the color scheme here reminded me of his works.

OH-oh..., that is a very accurate description of my work. I work a lot with browns and ochers (especially in shading) I tend to avoid blacks as I find them too harsh and I don't often shade with complimentary colours simply because I don't think of it at the time. Perhaps this is another thing I have to consider before starting my next project?
All the critisism above is valid. I must also say the the Ork Warboss is much better than this one.
Good eye. The Warboss was painted to be a GD entry. Lysander, however, was just meant for my personal army. After some persuasion from a couple of friends of mine I entered him as an after thought. (Although, he received a lot more attention than the Warboss did on Games Day)

I finished up the Inquisitor Lord last night. I'll post him here since his squad is here anyway. Again..., this is for my personal army (So not GD level by any means) , but I appreciate feed-back all the same.

Okay, how do I put this gentle... The rock( I suppose that is a rock) looks a bit like a huge pile of dung! ;)

Overall the mini is a bit shiny so maybe a dullcoat would be in place. I'm not convinced of the hammer I'm guessing it's supposed to be bronze/gold NMM? Also is that another mouldline I see on the shaft? ;)

Love it that you painted the Psyber-eagle as an American (bald?) Eagle. :)

I think the shininess is okay for the armor, but I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the base, fur and feathers (eagle). Rock shape aside, it looks like it's made out of plastic.

Skrit is right about the smelly thing on the base. That's exactly what it looks like :(

But it may be depicting a moment when the inquisitor says "Boys, I think we stepped into some serious sh!t!"

The armor looks fine to me, as does the head. The eagle is too flat for my taste though.

That's a 'crappy' review! (Lol)*Kiddin* Actually, the army that he is a part of is based in a muddy field. I definitely wasn't trying for a "dung hill" look, however.

Here is an example of what I mean..., These are a Terminator squad that you can see is walking through a field that has muddy tank tracks through it

And prior to painting...,

I appreciate that. I was pleased with the armour and the skin tones. With the eagle, however, I didn't continue the fine details because he was only for my army. Your point, though, is absolutely valid. If I was entering him into a completion this (along with a few other areas) would have to be addressed.

Agreed, however I think there are better ways to represent mud than with GS.
I saw a tutorial once, hope I can find it for you.
