Thanks for the comment, the current army wip im doing is actually 2 separate armies, thousand sons and world eaters, im just bouncing between the two so i dont get bored with one or if i do get bored with one i can work on the other. So expect more thousand sons to come.

i need to work on a few more things but this model in general im very happy with. I think with my NMM grey the problems i've been having with it is that i don't give it enough contrast and i tend to rush it a little bit so it looks patchy and more like stone, also my coverage of highlights on the grey are a bit excessive, so with this model i tried to tone down the highlights and go for a more extreme shade and highlight. I think it worked out well.

Right, some of you know i've been working on a second tsons squad and jumping to a beserker now and then to help me focus more. But i have found as i am painting these minis, army building really isn't for me. I keep losing my concentration. Anyway, i have tried glazing before but as a method to smooth out my layering, this time i started with glazing and kept going from shades and highlights. Im really happy with it and this is the 4th time ish i've done this with varying results. I think for my character models i will keep using the technique to get better at it and for smoother transitions, definately a time consuming technique. Anyway enough of my waffle, any helpful comments or criticisms will be good to help me improve.

I like the clarity of the details and especially like the richness of the blue, it works really well. My only criticism is that it does make the brown look a little flat by comparison but then I think that if it didn't the miniature would appear a little too heavily saturated with colour. I suppose that's not a criticism at all, really.

Thanks for the nice comments: im happy with how the colours have come out and it was fun trying a relatively new technique for me. I think i'll apply it to many of my other minis to come.
EB; you're right about the browns on the robes but my camera is inadequate for taking pictures of minis so it does seem very dark compared with the armour but i didn't want them to overpower the other colours since its probably the tierary colour for the scheme.
Mahon, i used 2 lamps when taking these photos and one of them is more mood lighting in my room which gives a yellow tinge to things. The background is just 2 sheets of plain white paper, but oh well maybe i'll show you them in person when i get some money to travel a bit.
Demi, im going to go for 1500 pts of thousand sons and 1500 pts of world eaters. Its all just a recycling of my old chaos nightlords army which was my first army after restarting to paint in 2006. Not too much more to do for the tsons, 6 obliterators, 5 terminators, 1 lord/sorcerer and a dreadnought. The dreadnought is the only piece i don't have yet for them but i will get some goodies from FW once i've done this lot and made some good head way with the world eaters.
I dont plan to expand anymore then that because i have no more patience for army building.

Heres a fairly big update from me, i have been working on my 2nd squad of thousand sons marines. In general i am happy with them, they are painted to a table top quality, but i did find myself losing focus after a while. I think for two reasons, first was that i have been working on tsons marines for the last two months now and the quality of the models were not as good as the first squad since they were a recycled chaos marine unit from my old original army. Anyway enough of my rambling here is the unit.
