Trov - if you go, that's your decision. I am sorry as you're an old friend of ours, so I am sad to see you want to go. But I think you're acting silly and childish and as Skrit said - it sounded like a hint that we were just trying to be pleasing everybody.

No, we don't. You don't have to like everything. I have no problem with you not liking Ben's diorama. I don't think Ben would have a problem with it.
Just the way you behave is no good. I would love to hear why you don't like this one, useful feedback is good, constructive criticism is good. Just saying 'meh' or making rude remarks is not useful at all. And may become rude easily.

Well Skrit I thought that also, and believed that for some time... but I can say from mine personal experience here, that... You cannot say things to eachother.

People dont get the "honest" opinion about something... I can say to my friends if I like something or not and its reasons... whitout the agravation that occurs here now and then.

For me the "Meh" comment is just as good as the " I laike" comment... but once you try to talk on another level... all breaks down.

Its ok, nothing wrong with it, its anormal thing on the webz... but not what I espected ar CofC.

As for Trov... well I espected that to happen sooner or later... thats what you get when you all goof about someones opinions over and over again... and it wasnt for lack of warnings this has happened.

Personally I tend to get more concentrated on my business and hit the ignore/ lurk mode and just select very very carefully to who and what to reply... just like any other forum really.

Sorry offtopic but its a sad moment at CoC.

CofC stays the same for me, a homely place on the internet and the core group are true friends.

@Navarro - when Rusto asked if Trov was joking I didn't mean anything offensive, like that Trov HAS TO share somebody else's opinion (eg. Rusto's). I just meant it was not a joke, it was Trov's opinion, and - as you know - he often has different opinions than most other people.

There was nothing wrong in not liking the model, but the general rule is: let's be polite to each other. You can criticize, but don't flame. Don't be offensive, be constructive.

I noticed that several long-term members of our community became more sensitive or touchy than before. I don't know why, but it's a fact.

I always liked this place to be a free forum for exchanging opinions. The opinions can differ, but they need to be expressed politely, because they often touch subjects which can be important or emotionally touchy for some. We don't want to be rude. We can have our opinions, but we also should have respect for other hobbyists.

Mate, I dont think its a matter of Trov having a diferent opinion than most... I think the issue here is more Trov giving all hes got and expressing his honest opinion about something... and the immediate goof you guys give him in return... I have seen this countless times and on the rare ocasion I come down and retributed the favor to the person/ persons in question I was immediatly attacked and people felt offended.

It makes you think... is it worth sharing pure honest opinions with your so called friends, if generaly people will become defensive and either goof with me or attack me?

I think this happened way to many times with Trov and I personally also experienced that several times.

What bugs me is that he warned sooooo many times and you guys in general keep pushing and patornizing his opinions...

Like I said... Its not a surprise this ended this way... on my part when I feel that Im stressing someone out I take a step back... avoid falling in same mistakes... If continues I simply avoid engaging, concentrate on my minis projects etc... Its ok mate its the net and its all like that.

I do prefer to hear a pure honest opinion about my minis than continuous praising... and Trov was a big part of that for CofC.

To be totally honest... the pic of the drop pod diorama didnt impress me either... yet and from my experience here i knew my frontality about it wouldnt be apreciated so i just concentrated on praising things i actually liked the most... See what I mean? One step back.
The problem with this is that after several steps back your not engaged with anyone and you will probably migrate.

My personal point of view - honest opinions were always priced here. Noone discouraged nobody from presenting own stance, even if it was completely different from majority.
Praises only here? Sorry, I believe that we have all proved on many occasions, that we are able to criticize any work, including gd winners, including our friends' minis.
I don't feel that Trov was being attacked here for his opinions. I feel, that he felt attacked when someone disagreed with him.

That was just my point of view. I understand and accept that yours is different. If we made Trov or you feel this way - I'm sorry for that. At the same moment I have to say I don't feel guilty (nor anyone else should).

@Nav: okay maybe Trov warned us but don't you think he had a big part in this which got us acting like this. How many cheek in tongue remarks haven't come from him when somebody was trying to be serious.

Just that when it would happen to him he would have sore toes. I know I over-reacted several times too but does that really matter? Afterwards we discuss it and the air clears and we continue. I got corrected a couple of times too (by you once iirc) and that's okay. Sometimes it's a matter of mis-comunication, sometimes the language issue. I thought we generally worked things out but it seems there is a lot of old sore going on with some members...

@Trov: don't know if you still read this but I did try to get what Nav said in his first post. Maybe I see things differently from you in this matter.

But as Phil said, eot. Trov made his choice and even though I'm not happy with it, I'll accept and move on, that's life...
