Well i thought i'd start my own little post for anyone to give me some helpful hints and comments or criticisms
So i got myself the Cryx battle box and i've been so excited about painting these models i got stuck right in. First thing was to give the models a more interesting base than sand and static grass so i went with a lab floor/industrial floor feel for the models, which would be a good start. Getting some plastic tiling from my LGS i used that and cut out the appropriate shapes (too bad the bases aren't square). Added some green stuff and et voila a nice basis for me to go nuts on.

Then progressive highlights up to a light grey except on the rivets, i figured they would probably pick up more light so i tried to give a very slight contrasting highlight of white on them. Then i did some detail on the base using a highlighted colour of the base and worked up to almost pure white. There is some hints of rust on the base but it doesn't show up well on my photos so im going to add a bit more colour to them when i get back to doing some more rust effects. I also used some watered down black ink to blob onto the base and let it dry naturally so it left like an oil stain sort of effect on the base. Now to the nitty gritty part of the model. I did the green first, just simple highlights of adding yellow then white to a dark green. The next step was the main plates of armour i wanted a dark feel to them so started off with a base colour of dark blue and black and added progressive amounts of grey to give a slight highlight.

The grey nmm was done in a similar fashion to the base except i left more of the black washed areas for a darker transition but im not too happy with the knee joint part, i think i will redo that section.
So thats all i've done for about 14 hours from start so far. Oh and i did manage to spray my slayer today.
One thing which im kinda torn about is whether to prime my models black or white. I've always done black but im thinking if i prime white it will give me richer brighter colours.
