Why hello there!

Post by Sahatiel »

I figured I should probably introduce myself, now that I've started posting instead of just lurking.

I live in Australia in a city called Townsville. It's located in the north of Queensland if you ever feel like looking it up. (Yes, it's just like the Powerpuff Girls, but named after the founder, Robert Towns.)

I'm 22 to be 23 in April, and work full time. However the office I work in is very quiet, so I have a lot of time to do what I like, which includes painting and using forums such as this ^^

I got into the hobby through my partner who plays W40k and a little Warmachine. I really got into the hobby because I really enjoy painting the models. That was a little over 18months ago now.

My long term goal is to one day win a Golden Daemon. I have a long way to go before I get there, but I never expected it to happen over-night. It also gives me a little motivation to keep going when I feel like throwing in the towel.

I became a member here because I admire the talent you guys have with a brush (and with green stuff!) and hope I can one day reach your level. Until then, perhaps you can help me on my way to improving :)

As for models, I have a orange marine army, I'm working on a chaos army, and will eventually make a tyranid army.

I can't really think of anything else to say right now, so I'll leave it at that.

:D

Welcome welcome! Orange space marines? Sounds tropical! ;-)

Yeah - they started off red, but everywhere I looked all I saw were red marines. I did a trial of the GW foundation orange (solar macharius orange?) and found that I liked it, so my marine army became orange. There are a lot of flamers in the army (chapter is called Brothers of the Sacred Flame), so it's quite fitting.

Now all I need is to paint them better, so I don't feel embarrassed posting pictures of them...
