Shinigami WIP Inquisitor

Post by Shinigami »

Hi everyone!

I've been painting with ToMaZ today and I realised that I haven't shown anything on the forums yet.
I started on Inquisitor cortez today. A mini that I got from TMZ to practice on.
He also gave me some tips on how to paint faces and stuff.

I know I still have a lot to improve on, but this mini has allready been a big step for me :)

Thanks for looking :)

the face looks much better IRL. Much more depth and color. The armour and fur need more contrast. More shading/highlighting.

Have you finished the base allready?

Almost. I'm thinking if I should add snow or not. It would fit in with the colder colors I think. If it doesn't work out, I can always make a new base.

And you're right about the highlights, but IRL that part looks better too :P

skin looks too sick (bluish tone) for a space marine.
I'm with TMZ about the armour and fur.

what do you mean by spanish style? I'm fairly new to painting so I don't know what all these different styles are. For the face I took cold colors to match my base and armour.

I will highlight the armour more.

Thanks for the comments

Flesh does indeed look a bit off but I know what monitors can do to colours. Looks promising but then again you have a good mentor! ;)
