Zealot with my first freehand probe

Post by Slawek »

How to paint this puppet hat (what color to use). How to paint his weapon? How do you like this fleur de lys

And I already know how to improve his base :)

I improve a base and give a puppet some colors

Thank you prof. Ana and Mahon!!!

He looks great! Maybe paint his hat red with a =I= on it...

I agree, the model overall is great. The freehand looks well done and the shading/highlighting look good. Tha hat.. I'd maybe think the opposite of Skrit's suggestion - black with a red =I= for IMO it would stand out more.

You know, Slawek, I feel cheated ;) - you keep saying you're a poor painter while this mini is pretty decent (especially if you still consider it a WIP)

The parchment and the freehand are very good, as for the first freehand this is much more than I would expect. As for my suggestions - some more highlighting wouldn't hurt. If you manage to het it subtle and not overdo it, highlighting the cheeks and the nose would be a good thing. Maybe also some outlining of the edges of the shirt with a slightly lighterr color?
Maybe also highlight the edges of the UZI?
You could also wash the white on the puppet with some shading color and quickly wipe the wash away, even with your finger. This should provide some easy and effective shading.

Generally a good choice of colors, and better technique than I expected!
