A Hello from a "new" painter

Post by Necronomitron »

Hello all! I was referred to this site by one of the members of the Privateer Press forums and so far I've seen so much useful information.

A bit about myself, I've eyed miniature painting/gaming for about 11 years now starting with a short foray in WH 40K when I was about 16. Off and on throughout these years I would pick up a few models from a game store and (try to) paint them. But never really dedicated myself to the art of miniature painting/modelingl.

I've been gaming, in it's various incarnations, for almost 15 years. Most recently I've been playing World of Warcraft. It's fun but I have nothing to show for the hours I've spent playing it. I had been itching for a way to turn my gaming hobby into something more productive, something that challenges me. Miniatures had been on the brain for sometime, but I wasn't really happy with my options. I know GW makes some good stuff, but the army sizes require cash in amounts more then I have. Then I discovered Hordes, which has since become a catalyst in my decision to really go after miniature painting/modelling/gaming as a hobby.

While I'm waiting for my warpack to come in I've been doing some painting on some models I currently have. I'll probably be posting them before long. After seeing the work here I know any critiques I'd recieve I would try and learn from.

Anyhow, forgive my windedness. I hope to learn from you all in the near future and thanks for providing a forum where newbs like me can go for painting advice.
