The Old Dwarf...

Well oldish. ;)

I missed this the other day, so here goes -

Hello all, I'm King Ulrik Flamebeard. But you can all call me KU or Adam. I have been a painter for um... a while, nine years or so now. I play GW stuff only, but that's due to the fact I started with them and my opponent plays them.

Now I've only really started to get into painting in the past two years or so, due to the lack of opponents I decided I would try to make my armies look nicer. And well my painting has improved alot (though nothing like those here - I've looked through the galleries here  ) and I try to better myself from model to model. Recently I have brought a number of special characters from the GW FB range and have begun to paint them up as best I can for a showcase of my skills. Hopefully I can improve alot.

Now as for my armies;

WHFB

Dwarfs; my primary army, these now stand somewhere in the region of 5ooo pts+ (9ooops if I include every dwarf special character I have - which is all of them ^_^ ).

High Elves; the Asur was just because I wanted an army that was the complete opposite of the dwarfs. Also their histories intertwine a fair bit. These are somewhere about 3ooopts. But a few units need a bit of repainting.

40K

I also have begun work on a DIY 40k Space Marine chapter, no name as of yet but I do have a unit almost done. I just need to add Chapter icons, I'll try to get pics of them soon.

Other than that, nothing but the odd piece here and there. I have a Mordhiem dwarf warband to paint up at somepoint and plan for more models to 'do my stuff on'. I'll defiantly put pics up when I get round to them. :)

Btw, Kudo's on a great site. Very good and friendly.

Hi Adam!

Like you when it comes to WHFB I'm a big dwarf fan. :) I'm also very into speed painting to get good looking troops on the table you need not spend hours per mini.

You might want to check out the Army Painting list on Yahoo!:

https://tinyurl.com/3z96s

Monthly fun unit painting competitions with a limit of an hour per mini. A friendly crowd who are interested in sharing tips and trying out new methods of painting to get the best looking armies on the table in the least amount of time.

Welcome aboard!

Hello all and thanks for the warm welcome ^_^

Kenneth - I'll look into that site. For my dwarfs I don't speed paint, I like to get them looking good (although quite hard to do with the current plastics). I also like to try and get different looking beards, I have blade looking quite well - if a little yellow - and white I can do.
