These guys are doing conversions based on the characters from the Horus Heresy novels (which I can highly recommend!) and Horus Heresy artbooks.
Try to look beyond the relatively ''none too good paintjobs'' rather to the feel they are trying to create.
For me I kinda got some some inspiration out them...

Pre-Heresy conversions.
RE: Pre-Heresy conversions.
most of them are pretty cool and well designed. saiying more about the paintjobs is difficult because of small pics

The Lion El Johnson model suffers from the standard DA mistake. The Dark Angels wore black power armor prior to the destruction of Caliban at the end of the Horus Heresy. The Lion never wore green. But, then again, I loved the Dark Angels while I played 40K, so I know these trivial fluff details. The conversions look great, though. My major gripe is that the pre-heresy versions of the legions have chaos stars on them. pre-heresy, they were not openly openly chaos. but, y'know.

On the rest of them, conversion and painting quality really differ alot between the minis: some are great, some are not really anything special.
