Which Colour Scheme?

Post by Tanthor »

Well, this is my first post in this forum... So please dont be severe  ...
Let me explain you my problem:
I started collecting Warhammer 40k about 3 months ago, but have to admit that i collected (and painted) LotR before I "converted" to WH.
What im trying to explain you is that ive got a certain experience in painting miniatures. But I noticed quite fast, that i had to learn some new basics, because of those "materials" (like glass or chemistries), which i didnt meet when i painted LotR minis. I just want you to understand my situation... im sorry for that long introduction! so what i tried to explain you, is that im an intermediat in what concerns painting, but a beginner in warhammer 40k... :D
Now, I had to chose a colour-scheme (for a chaos army).
So, which one would you prefer in my place (when you know the traits of each scheme)??

1)
ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image --> easier to paint (for a beginner) and looks discreeter

2)
ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
--> little harder to paint and take more time.. but looks kinda flashy :D

Thanks for reading thalong post. :D
looking forward to replies! :D

pics are a bit on the smallish side, but I lean towards marine nr 2. The edging (lines on the edges of armourplates) works well on the marines.

Anyway, it would really help us if the pics were a bit bigger, and if it helps us, it helps you ;) :)

I'd also choose #2: the grim marine it the besy of the three presented imo :)
welcome to the forum btw :D

The colour scheme for chaos usually depends very much on which chaos deity your army is dedicated too, but for me the second of the pics works the best.
