I got robbed!

Post by Skrit »

Im so angry! I was on my way home from my girlfriend when I decided I was hungry. I came at snackshop and when I drew my wallet to pay, it was ripped out of my hands!

I tried to catch the guy but he was too fast for me. I was 'lucky' enough to find my wallet laying on the pavement with everything except my papermoney inside...

The thing is I just made a sale and had about 250 euro with me and that was money I really needed to make it through the month. I was about to put it on my bankaccount tomorrow...

I went to the police and they would see if they had it on camera but also told me I could 'probably' say goodbye to my money!

I'm so angry that I cried my head of in anger...

This is because this is the second time this has happened and I'm thinking about getting a knife or something... Next time someone won't be able to walk again...

Sorry, had to vent.

sorry to hear that mate :/

but if you had a knife or not that wouldn't have made much difference since you couldn't catch up with the guy. It hasn't happened to me but it could very well have, I'm really sloppy with my wallet etc. But usually I carry all my cash in a money clip in my pants.

I hope the police can find some security tapes, maybe they know the guy or somebody recognises him.
Good luck anyways with filling in your budget, can you cover the rent this month etc ?

Oh now that sucks.

I'm sorry to hear you got robbed mate. have faith in Karma, the guy that robbed you will have some nasty stuff happen to him.

I wouldn't carry a knife, could be you that ends up in trouble, a prison sentance isn't worth it.

I'm sorry to hear that mate. I just wish you could have gotten your hands on him and gave him a good beating. I hate these kind of things. Happens often here too (mostly by forreigners/immigrants)
I wouldn't hope to get too much from the police though. It's a small crime.
I do hope that you can make ends meet then this month!!

I never carry large sums in my wallet just in case. If I have a large sum on me, I rather have it in my pocket than in my wallet. You could add a (little) chain to you wallet to clip to your pants next time.

Thanks guys, means a lot to me!

Stupid thing is that after the last time I decided to never have much money one me just in case. Just like Mordred I used to keep my money in my pockets but after losing some money a couple of times I decided to change my habbits.

Several times today I thought about putting the money in my girlfriends safe for keeping but decided I needed to put it on my bankaccount as I still had some bills to pay... I would have done that tomorrow!

I'll manage with my money, my brother was really cool and handed me 100 Euro to get through the month and I can pay him back when I have it.:)

Stupid thing is that if I would have gotten the guy I would have ripped him apart with my bare hands, I guess that I didn't look imposing enough with my travelling bag and he must have thought me an easy target or something like that...

It's good to hear from my family that I shouldn't worry about the money and that they are glad I'm allright. I haven't felt being loved in a long time and it does me really good that my life is going in a positive direction! A year back (as some of you I know a bit closer might know) I would have been thrown in negative feelings and got depressed...

But now (I still won't catch much sleep tonight!) I'll try to focus on my short holiday to Tenerife that my GF's boss is paying for...

Again thanks guys!:D

yeah, you being save is ofcourse the most important :) Money is something that comes and goes. Just a shitty situation but it's great that your family helps out :)

He probably took you for a tourist (travelling bag)

Well, good that you keep your head up

Sorry to hear it Tim. People will take anything they can and be d@mned with the consequences.

Not sure if caring the knife would be a good idea as someone else said, may cause you more grief than help. Got to try and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Easier said than done I know, but at the very least you were not hurt or worse.

Thomas' idea is a good one to consider for the future as well.

sorry to hear about it, but i am glad you didn't have a knife. in such ituations it's usually more trouble than it's actually worth. the limits of allowed self-defense are always a line which is way to easy to cross...

sorry to hear about it, but i am happy you have strength and people to help you get over it!
