Colours help

Right, first thing is.. this is the mini;

I just do not know how to paint her, I do not want to GW scheme of blue and white. I have been looking at colour wheels and guides of colours, looking at the complemetry colours and I still have no clue of a scheme. The main thing that is bothering me is the cloak and dress, obviously. I did consider a green dress with red cloak but it always conjures the whole christmas thing to mind, not sure how they'd look if darkened or lightened.

Then I had the idea of purple dress, blue cloak or vicea versa. I felt the two colours could end up blending too much and I have plans for her base which could have too much blue there.

And so, I am asking you all. Any ideas?

I painted this mini with a red dress and a very dark purple cloak. A purple dress with turquoise/blue cloak would look nice too I think.

you could avoid the christmas look for a red - green colour scheme by painting her in a wood elf way, with natural colours and some browns mixed into the basecolours?
