Flesh + bruises recipes...

Post by ToMaZ »

Ahoi hoi....

I've started on an ogre tyrant to get my mind away from school stuff. Now I need a good fleshtone recipe for it. I don't want it to be pinkish... and I thought it would be fun to try something else.

And I want to give him some bruises, but I don't know how... any tips on that?

Thanx

imo the easiest way would be taking harp knife, carving some scars on the mini and then painring it in proper way...
about bruises - try watered down blue / purple washes; it reall works

A tiny bit of an olive green color will keep a skintone from being too pink. Or are you looking for something truly unusual?

Bruises - browns fading out to yellows are pretty common, too. Oh, and some green in there, too...

Try this:

Base:

50% cork brown
30% golden yellow
10% white
5% magenta
5% Sky blue

Shade:

Base + More cork brown

Deeper shade:

Shade + chocolat brown

Highlights

Base + light flesh and then to white

I hope it helps

P.D. u can use a light violet color instead the mixture of magenta and sky blue

bruises are best painted by taking your base - fleshtone and adding purple / blue colours to it and applying it in very thin layers to the allready painted skin.

try working up from ss camo black brown, through dwarf flesh and into ivory or buff - it is a very different and warm tonal scale, keep it subdued and it can be quite nice.
