I hope this is the right place to ask...
today I've bought liquid retarder and I have questions about this:
1.how much I should add it to my paint? I use GW paint - do You think one
teaspoon per pot (12ml) is ok / too much?
2.is retarder toxic? I have no idea what is this made of, but I have habit of licking brushes instead washing them in water...
thx for help

the one i use recommends a 10% up to 20% mix and from the smell i can say that maybe it isn't toxic, but for sure is not an elixir

I don't think that retarder has some sort of toxin in it. I use a retarder and brushlick too, and I still function fine (I think
)

I think it also depends on what brand is it. I have a bottle Golden Flow Improver and a bottle of Golden Retarder and on one of them there is the toxic sign. Can't tell at the moment 100% which one, I'll check it at home. Anyhow, The Flow Improver has a veeery bad taste, I really have to concentrate not to lick my brushes when using it
.

Checked it: According to the label the Flow Improver is toxic, the retarder isn't. At least it saysthere is no known health hazards, but most chemicals are not fully tested for chronic toxicity.

You are welcome.
Hm, Don't exactly know which brand you are using, it might be that your retarder is toxic. My retarder and flow improver are both from Golden Additives.
