Here is one of my latest works. I wanted to try something else than usual so I chose to paint it with NMM (unfortunatly )
About color scheme. I planned to paint her as dark and evil b*tch, but afterall she has changed to pale version of Nicole Kidman I think, ups
I know it`s not my best work, but who doesn`t have sometimes bad days ?
Nice colours, and nice nmm too. I only have 2 comments: the purple would have looked better with more highlights imo. Especially at the back, and the hair looks a bit flat to me.
Other than that: great bone, skintone and scepter or staff or whatever ^^
Alltogether a great mini
btw, I can't find the resemblance with nicole kidman.... Nicole is sexy, and the dark elf... well isn't
Sorry, but I am not too fond of this style of painting.
The skin is fine, and I like the staff. But the coat is the weakest part of this mini. I talked with you about it, but I will write it again.
I would add a little blue to the purple, because this tone doesn't match the rest of the mini. Besides it, Purple isn't highlighted enough.
And you know what I think about this NMM gold - It lacks final shading and final highlighting. I paint leather with these colours
I think this wasn't the best of your minis. Why? It seems like you had no idea of what you would like to do with it...
There's not enough interesting stuff on it to make large pics, while on smaller pics some subtlety of this mini seems to be gone.
Eg. the hair - you wanted it to be subtle but it's not highlighted enough for small pics, and too boring for large pics. And on large pics the purple/blue coat would be super-boring. Maybe some pattern or streaks of highlighting would help?
The face looks cool on large pics but then some other parts look unfinished then - eg. the yellowish/brownish trimming of the cape. Was it supposed to be NMM? What are the lines doing there? Why do the decorative 'pins' look so unfinished?
Definitely it's one very uneven mini. With some parts painted to a good standard, other parts looking neglected or forgotten, and finally everything covered with a shiny coat of varnish. You can do much better and you proved it with the Emperor's Champion!
