Hm, he looks unfinished for me.
The purple and the gold are done really well. It's a great contrast and very smooth.
But there are some things I would like to mention.
I personally would add either snow or some kind of grass/ moss to the base, just to give it some contrast. It is too tone in tone.
His face is missing completely. Maybe it is a bad angle, but I can't see any lips or eyes. This should be fixed.
His left shoulder pad lacks some definitions. Maybe some more shading and another highlight. Now it looks like only one colour.
And the last thing are the shield and the blade. I personally think they would need another highlight. The seem unfinished to me.
The overall impression of the mini is great, as the purple and the gold are a real eyecatcher. Getting into the details, there are some things, I think should be done again.
Keep it up.
your technique doesn't need any improvement, the blendings on this mini are fantastic. However the colours aren't as good on all the parts of the miniature. The nmm needs much stronger highlights, up to pure bone or pure white.
I wouldn't add snow to the base. to be honest I think you should give it a more grey stonelike colour, it would contrast with the miniature and you could add some patches of grass for variety.
The photos are bad - I can't take good photos
His eyes are red, and based on dark surface, so it's hard to see them on these photos.
About blade, hmm I wanted to get more toned and darker effect then usuall, so that is the reason why it looks like that.
Anyway thanks you all for your advice, they are very useful and I'll try to remember it in future.
